New Release Blog Hop | Erin Lee Creative

Happy Saturday, friends!

I am so excited to be joining the Erin Lee Creative Release Blog Hop today as a Guest Designer! Today’s release is full of fun and exciting stamps, stencils, and dies, so be sure to check out all of the new goodies on the Erin Lee Creative website!

Also, two $50 gift codes are up for grabs so make sure to comment below and at each stop of the blog hop (links below) for a chance to win! Winners will be chosen on Monday, October 26, 2020. Good luck!

I’ll be sharing 3 cards that I made using some of my favorite new items from the release, so let’s dive right in!

For my first card, I used the ‘GRL PWR’ 4x6 stamp set as the theme for a vibrant card with an encouraging message. I made my background using alcohol inks, one of my favorite ways to make a card fun and unique. I then inked up the large stamp with Copic friendly ink then colored it in using Copic markers that I felt would complement the background.

Next, I die cut the ‘Star Burst’ die using three different types of glitter cardstock and stacked the stars slightly offset and adhered it to the base. Finally, I used black cardstock to heat emboss the sentiment with opaque white embossing powder. For a finishing touch, I wanted to add a little more sparkle (because why, not?) so I used a shimmer pen to go over the colored-in hair.

Next up: a shaker card! For this card I used the ‘Quilted’ stencil and ‘Star Burst’ die. I first used black glitter paste to cover the stencil over white cardstock and left it to dry (about 1 hour). Once that was set, I carefully die cut the star die in the middle of the stenciled panel then added a piece of acetate behind it to complete
 the shaker window.

For the base, I cut a piece of black cardstock to size and added foam adhesive behind the stenciled panel except for the window area. I then added sequin and glitter to the center before adhering my back panel. To complete this card, I used a stamp from the ‘GRL PWR’ set to create my heat embossed sentiment.

For my final card, I made the background using a similar technique to the first card, this time using rainbow colored alcohol ink. I then stamped, heat embossed, and die cut my sentiment 5 layers thick. I used the Erin Lee Creative holographic paper to die cut one ‘Star Burst’ die and placed it on top of the sentiment layers and adhered the entire piece to the center of my base.

To finish my card I cut a heart from chunky glitter cardstock and foam adhered it to the center of my star.

I hope you found some inspiration today! Don't forget to leave a comment below and hop along for a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi, there - I like all three of these cards but especially I LOVE the one w/ the GRL PWR image. We women really need to be more assertive in the world and more helpful to each other. Love the message your design sends. I'm a schoolteacher and I try to use "she" and "her" and "they" (feminine form) in my language classes as much as possible.
    Have a terrific day!
