Love You & Love You, Too Release Blog Hop: Day 2 | Simon Says Stamp

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm absolutely thrilled to be taking part in Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Love You and Love You, Too Blog Hop! Be sure to follow along on today’s hop for tons of inspiration as well as a chance to win a giveaway!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I created using the brand new XOXO Background Cling StampI had so much fun making this card! It’s bold, vibrant, and is sure to grab your Valentine’s attention. The best part: it’s super easy to recreate! Let’s dive right in!

To begin, I die cut a piece of white cardstock down to a traditional A2-sized base and placed it onto the Misti stamping tool, prepping it with anti-static powder. Next, I stamped it with the XOXO Background Cling Stamp inked with Versamark, then covered it with black embossing powder and heat set it. Note: although it can be more difficult to work with, I prefer the look of black embossing powder on clear ink compared to using clear embossing powder on black ink.

Once the embossing powder was completely set and cooled, I used a large blender brush to ink blend the embossed panel with Pinkfresh Studio Raspberry Bliss ink (prior to beginning, I made sure to re-ink the pad to ensure a vibrant and saturated outcome). When ink blending, I used a heavier hand at the bottom and lightened it toward the top in order to achieve a gradient effect. Once the ink was dry, I die cut the panel using the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles frame die.

For the center sentiment, I used the CZ Design Chunky Love You die (outline only) and die cut it once in light green cardstock and twice in white cardstock, to stack under it for dimension. Finally, to add a little extra fun, I die cut two small hearts out of holographic cardstock and adhered them to the center of the O’s using foam tape. To complete the card, I adhered the panel to an A2-sized top folding card base with liquid glue.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s fun Valentine card! To see even more inspiration, and to share all of your own creations, check out the Simon Says Stamp Love You and Love You, Too release galleries!

  16. Hi, Dilay - Goodness! You've offered us viewers a visual feast, for cryin' out loud!! Your work is beautiful - and plentiful! I love the purple-magenta-blue background of the one Thank You for Being a Friend card. It's a stunner! I also love the Hearts and Streamers (heart layer) to make not one but two beautiful cards (love the iridescent one and the pink gradient one both!). Finally, to that XOXO background stamp: I did not originally order that but after I saw it used by talented ones such as you, it went right into my cart!
Health and happiness to you in '21!!
