Splendor Release Blog Hop: Day 1 | Simon Says Stamp

Hello and happy Friday, crafty friend! I’m thrilled to be a part of the Simon Says Stamp Splendor Release Day 1 Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled with tons of inspiration and, of course, GIVEAWAYS! Each blog on the hop is giving away a $25 gift card to the Simon Says Stamp shop, so be sure to comment on each for a chance to win! Blog hop lineup and giveaway details can be found at the end of this post.

Birthdays are such a special occasion that calls for celebration and joy, so I decided to create a vibrant and eye-catching birthday card using the new Half Spring Floral Mandala Die, which happens to be one of my personal favorites from this release!

To begin, I started by die-cutting each piece of the Half Spring Floral Mandala Die in various vibrant colors. I also cut two additional pieces in white cardstock and adhered them on top of a top-folding A2-sized card base to create a full circle mandala. I then trimmed off the excess. Now comes the fun part! I carefully inlaid each of the die cuts into the white mandala outline and secured them in place with liquid glue. This step may take a bit of time, but I find it to be quite therapeutic and relaxing, especially if you're like me and enjoy intricate details.

For some added dimension, I also die-cut the Grand Corner and Windswept Leaves in white and set them aside. As for the sentiment, I stamped 'happy birthday' from the Circles Sayings stamp set in white ink onto gray cardstock. I then die-cut it using a stitched circle die. To complete the design, I placed the leaves underneath the sentiment and adhered it to the mandala, slightly offsetting it with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about today's card and feel inspired to create something new! Thank you so much for stopping by, my friends! Don't forget to check out all of the hop details below, as well as the inspiration gallery for more projects featuring the latest release!
