Rainbows: Hugs from Afar | Simon Says Stamp

Hello, crafters!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I created for the brand new Simon Says Stamp Rainbows release! To celebrate the release, we are having an inspiration-filled hop today over on Instagram! Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already done so, and hop along for the chance to win some great GIVEAWAYS! Today’s card features the new Leaf Bundle embossing folder. These embossing folders are so easy to use and I just love the details on the outcome! Let’s begin!

To begin, I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock down to an A2-sized base. Before placing the cardstock into the embossing folder, I inked up the inside of the embossing folder with Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold Squeezed Lemonade, and Tumbled Glass) and blended them for seamless transitions of color. I then carefully placed the white cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine with the recommended sandwich.

Next, I die cut the leaf outline from the Detailed Rose die in vellum and the Tender Leaves in white cardstock and adhered them to the center. I then die cut Cosmos Bloom flower in white glitter cardstock and adhered that over top of the leaves using foam squares. To add a little extra dimension, I adhered iridescent pearl bobbles to the center of the flower. Lastly, I cut a sentiment strip from the Encouraging Sentiment Strips and adhered it to the card using foam squares, then mounted the card onto a top-folding card base!

Super simple right? I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to create with embossing folders! Please be sure to stop by the Simon Says Stamp Instagram to start the hop and for a chance to win!
