May 2021 Essentials Release | Pinkfresh Studio

Hello, friends!

I’m excited to kick off this week with another amazing Pinkfresh Studio release! This month’s new and fun essential dies consist of detailed shapes as well as mini slimline (which are all the rage right now, and I can see why!) To celebrate today’s Essentials release, Pinkfresh Studio is having a blog hop with tons of inspiration and, of course, generous giveaways! Today’s clean and simple shaker card was created with the new Shaker Stars Die Set - a set that creates the perfect stitched cutout and stitched outline! Let’s get started!

To begin, I created the stitched A2 base with my tried and true Stitched Rectangles Die Set! After marking the spot where I wanted to place the large star, I created the tail by die cutting silver glitter cardstock with the Color Block Rainbow Die. I used the negative pieces for the thinner pieces and the positive for the wider pieces. I then placed the Shaker Stars die on the panel and ran it through my die cutter, creating a seamless tail on the star.

Now, onto the fun part: shaker bits! I adhered a piece of acetate behind the star with double-sided tape then covered the entire panel, except the star, with foam tape. I added a fun mix of sequins to the center of the star then placed a solid piece of white cardstock to secure the back of the panel. Then, the obligatory “shake shake shake” to make sure none of the bits fall out!

Finally, for the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed ‘Wish big!’ from the Happy Birthday Sentiment Set, die cut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it above the star with foam tape. To finish, I mounted the completed panel onto a top-folding A2-sized card base!
