Just For You Release Blog Hop: Day 2 | Simon Says Stamp

Hello, crafters!

Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Just for You Release Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled with tons of inspiration and, of course, GIVEAWAYS! I’m sharing this super fun, vibrant card featuring the new Mushroom House die! This die is adorable and a perfect addition to your die collection! Let’s get started!

 

I began by creating the background using my absolute favorite medium: Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays! I sprayed a selection of colors (Eggplant, Blackberry, Fuschia, and Magenta) onto an A2-sized piece of white cardstock and then die cut it using the Nested Domed Arches die. I then die cut another piece of white cardstock with the Wonky Rectangles die and adhered the sprayed arch panel over top.

Now onto the star of the show! I die cut the Mushroom House in beige and red cardstock. I added shading to the gills and stalk with brown ink and then used a Tim Holtz Distress Sanding Disk to add some extra texture. I colored the door using a Copic Sketch Marker (shade E29) and then adhered all the parts together. Finally, I added a few die-cut circles to the cap and trimmed the excess.

After adhering the Mushroom House to the center of the panel, I die cut a few leaves using the Fine Textured Leaf dies. I sprayed them with more gloss spray (Lime) and added them around the mushroom for an enchanted, whimsical design. To finish, I added a sentiment strip and clear embellishments before mounting the completed panel onto a top-folding card base!
