August 2021 Large Die of the Month | Spellbinders

Hello, friends!

As promised, today I am sharing the Spellbinders August Large Die of the Month! This month's ‘Hex Kaleidoscope Slimline’ set is an amazing set of multiple dies that are versatile and can be used for all sorts of mini slimline projects! Today’s card is an elegant, sophisticated design that is super easy to recreate! Let’s get started!

I began by die cutting two solid, slimline rectangle bases (the die for this is included in the set) then used one of them to die cut the pattern and adhered that on top of the other (solid) slimline base.

Next, I cut five sets of hexes to create the tiles, combining a few colors with gold and white for each layer. I adhered the blue tiles to the center of the panel, then cut the other 3 in half and adhered them around the edge of the panel. I die cut one more pattern insert, fussy cut the center tile, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment (from the August Clear Stamp of the Month) and adhered that to the center with foam tape.

To add a little more dimension, I die cut flowers from some dies in my Spellbinders stash and adhered them around the sentiment. As a finishing touch, I added gold metallic pearls to the center of the flowers and tiles then mounted the panel onto a top-folding slimline card base.
